A number of closures and engineering works will take place over the upcoming festive period.

London stations
Liverpool Street
Liverpool Street mainline station will be closed from Christmas Day until Thursday 2 January.
Paddington
From Friday 27 December to Sunday 29 December, GWR, the Elizabeth Line and Heathrow Express will not be able to run to and from London Paddington. Some GWR services will run to and from Euston instead.
St Pancras
From Saturday 21 December to Sunday 29 December engineering works will close the Thameslink route between London St Pancras and Harpenden, and the East Midlands Railway route between London St Pancras and Bedford. More details can be found on the National Rail Enquires website.
TfL
Between Friday 20 December 2024 and Sunday 5 January 2025, most TfL services will be running. However, there will be some service changes and planned works across the network. Services on Christmas Eve will finish early, with no service on Christmas Day and limited service on Boxing Day.
The only transport running on Christmas Day will be taxi and private hire services, Santander Cycles, electric scooter rental trials (in some boroughs), coaches and Dial-a-Ride (for registered members only).

Thameslink
Significant engineering works will be taking place across the festive period, closing the Thameslink route between London and Harpenden for nine days. This will also affect services to and from Gatwick Airport. After Christmas, there will be line closures in the Cambridge area with bus replacement services operating. Thameslink trains between St Pancras International and Herne Hill won’t run between Christmas Day and Sunday 29 December. Find out more here
