London TravelWatch has advice for anyone travelling around London during Christmas and New Year.
As always, the advice is check before you travel during the festive season as your journey may be subject to engineering works.
This year there will be major engineering works taking place which will affect travel to Heathrow Airport, particularly on Boxing Day when it will not be accessible by rail or Tube.
You can check the Transport for London (TfL) or the National Rail website for more details on services affected and the alternative arrangements in place. We advise passengers travelling to Heathrow to allow more time to make their journeys.
Train companies and TfL (Overground, Tubes, buses, trams, DLR and TfL Rail) will be running Saturday, modified or reduced services during the festive season, so please check to see if and when your normal service is running.
There will be no trains, Tubes, buses, trams, DLR or TfL Rail on Christmas Day but if you fancy hiring a bike, you can use one of the Santander Cycles.
On Christmas Day there will be no charge for driving in the Congestion Charge or Ultra Low Emission Zones. However, the Low Emission Zone charge applies 365 days a year.
Please note, London TravelWatch will close for the festive period on 24 December at 2pm and reopen at 9am on Tuesday 4 January 2022.
London TravelWatch would like to wish all passengers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
